Kate
Newlin is a respected business strategist. During her 27-year
career, she has served as senior counsel at the highest levels
of corporations, institutions and government. Her greatest strength
is the analysis of diverse data, synthesizing it with business,
consumer and channel insights and developing powerful business
doubling solutions.
Since
1996, Kate Newlin has been president of Faith Popcorn's BrainReserve,
a leading trend-based business consultancy. Her clients there
encompass a broad roster of Fortune 500 firms. Her strategic
thinking has been successfully employed to reposition such
brands as SnackWells, Salem, Winston, Camel, and Jiffy Lube,
as well as to develop new businesses and new business initiatives
for CIGNA, Bell Atlantic, Procter & Gamble, Hasbro and
GE Capital.
Prior
to joining BrainReserve, she had her own firm, The Newlin
Company, which specialized in reputation management and non-paid
media marketing initiatives for Waldenbooks, LensCrafters,
ICI, General Foods, The Campbell Soup Company, The Quaker
Oats Company, Specialized Mountain Bikes, Standard Register,
Title 9 Sports, Guthy-Renker Corporation, Gibson Greetings,
Galub Toys, Wunderman Cato Johnson, Faith Popcorn's BrainReserve
and the Internal Revenue Service.
Before
founding The Newlin Company, she worked for a diverse roster
of Manhattan agencies, including Manning Selvage & Lee,
where she was Executive Vice President and Global Creative
Director. Among her agency assignments were product and corporate
repositionings for Procter & Gamble, S.C. Johnson, Weight
Watchers, International (Heinz), Godiva Chocolatier, Pepperidge
Farm, General Foods, The Galapagos Tourist Corporation, The
American Paper Institute, The American Greeting Card Council,
The Rice Council of America, The German Wine Council, the
Wines of France, Sambuca Romano, Dr. Norman Vincent Peale,
and Family Circle Magazine.
Ms.
Newlin lives in Park Slope and East Hampton with her daughter,
Mattie.
